Gen Distance is the Owner/Broker of GEN NEXT, a “Top Producing” and “5-Star Rated” Independent Brokerage.
Gen is an experienced Real Estate Broker with a demonstrated history of success in the real estate industry as an outstanding sales, leasing, and marketing expert. Gen Distance is consistently in the “Top 1%” for the number of properties sold and/or dollar volume (as per MLS sales statistics). Most importantly, Gen’s clients have provided her with the 5-Star accolades of which she is infinitely proud. Gen and her team make customer service a top priority, as they assure that each customer receives substantial value in every transaction.
Gen is a proud graduate of HBCU, Hampton University, and an esteemed law school, The George Washington University National Law Center. Gen served two terms as the President of the Darien Board of Realtors, where she is also a Certified Professional Standards resource. Gen is honored to have been named Realtor of the Year for the Darien Board of Realtors two years in a row, 2023 and 2024. In 2023, Gen represented Connecticut within the National Association of Realtors (NAR) as a member of the Board of Directors. Also within NAR, Gen serves as Connecticut’s representative to the Risk Management Issues Committee. Gen serves as an Executive Director on the Board of the CT Association of Realtors (CTR) where she also Chairs the Risk Reduction Committee.
Beyond real estate, Gen serves on the Board of Trustees of Baltimore Friends School as the Alumni Association Representative. Gen learned many of her core values at Friends School (an independant Quaker School), namely simplicity, peace, integrity, community, equality, and stewardship. Most importantly she learned to “to seek that of God (good) in everyone.” Gen also enjoys being a very active member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated. Gen served two terms as the President of The Cultured Pearl Foundation, Inc. which provides scholarships and substantial community outreach to underserved and disadvantaged residents of Fairfield County, CT. Additionally, Gen serves as President of The Lunch Counter Foundation (TLC Foundation) which provides education and resource assistance to small business owners to prepare them for prolonged success. Gen is often called upon to deliver public speeches and writings to inspire sales teams and others to put their best foot forward and to live their best lives.
